RACE REPORT

The start was considerably delayed when all the field, with the exception of Theatre Royal, went to the wrong starting point. Eventually, when the tapes went up, Royal Mantle jumped away quickly to ensure a strong gallop, from Keendragh, Lady Elect and Matagon. On settling down Matagon took over until the field reached the chains, at which point Keendragh and Theatre Royal made their play towards the leader. Before reaching the bend to the rails the contest developed into a match between the favourite and Montagon. After an exciting battle Royal Mantle got home by a head, with 2 lengths back to Keendragh. Theatre Royal was fourth and Lady Elect trailed in a long last.
